Okay so I have to be short and sweet cuz I'm on break, but I was just thinking I can't believe I have a one year old! Time passes so quickly. Last Friday she had her one year checkup appointment and usually she doesn't mind sitting on the exam table in fact she loves to destroy the crinkly paper, but this time not so much. In fact she pretty much had a death grip on me for the entire appointment. Her doc was like yeah this is around when they sometimes get fearful of the doctors office. Although she still managed to destroy the table and hand me each and every piece that she tore off. :)...Okay so lets see stats...well she weighed in a whopping 18lbs and 13oz....Her height was....yeah sorry can't remember at the moment, but I do know she is following the same percentile for all her stats the 10-25%. He doc says its good though cuz everything is growing at the same rate....Oh how I hate going to get her shots. She is such a little trooper. I guess since they phased out 15 month appointments they now have to get 5 shots at their one year appointment. I could tell when they gave her the tetanus one that it stung. She cried for a minute or two, but I nursed her and I think that helped her relaxed. When we came out she was smiling....They tell you they may develop a fever or a rash (the rash actually can show up a couple weeks from now), but I thought no need to worry cuz she seemed fine. Next day though she had a high fever and was not a happy camper. She was down to normal by Sunday though.....
Recently my mom got a big flexible wickerish basket for the family room to put all Al's toys in. So what does Al decide to do with it? Well flip it over on top of herself and peek through of course! she is just crazy cute. Unfortunately I didn't get a pic cuz I was laughing too hard...Hmmmm what else....Oh baby totally knows what and where a nose is. Unfornately, sometimes when she points at her own her finger slips and lands IN her nose. She thinks its SOOOO funny, but I try to make it clear that it icky!....I think she has like 7 oh wait no I think I saw another front one coming in yesterday. I think its become to many to keep track of them.......I've come to start thinking about what to start feeding her now. Should I start her more on peo oh I so was about to say people food, but I guess what I meant to say is solid food. She is definitely interested in food well not all the time and actually she refused food the other day from Heather and it was hilarious the face she would make. She kept sticking her tounge out at her. Heather just offered her some of her casserole to see if she would want it, but that was a definite NO.... I have one spunky little girl..... :) Okay I've rambled enough I just needed to jot down some memories that have been up in my brain. Sorry no pics this time around....
Okay I only have time for one though......
Wind kept trying to pull Al out of my arm's but all they could get was her hair instead. :)

Dear Alexandra,
We'll baby we've made it a year together. I can honestly say its been the best i've ever had and I wouldn't change a thing about it. My life didn't even compare until you came into it. I have loved seeing grow and develop this past year. I can't believe the same little one that I see toddle around the house holding a book and babbling is the same little one I brought home from the hospital in an outfit that was too big for her. You have the sweetest personality, I could and do just watch you for hours. Sometimes in the mornings I will sneak in your room and just watch you. Sometimes you'll wake up as if you sense me there, but other times I just get to stand there and watch you. I just wish I could put into words the amount of love I have for you and whats crazy is you think it couldn't grow bigger, but it does I love you even more as time goes on. Even though I am sad because this year has gone by so fast I love that I have so many fun times to look forward to with you. I love you more than you will ever know! Happy 1st birthday Ali! Mommy loves you forever and always my baby you'll be.
Love,
Mama :)
You and me the night before you were born

You and me Day One. This doesn't do justice to how
pooped I think we both were. Well lets just say
your mom look tore up. Don't worry i'll show you pics
some day :)
Us now one year later.
P.S. We made it breastfeeding one year strong. It wasn't always easy, but we made it through!

"Eskimo kisses!!"
My little fella the strawberry :)
Okay so I guess techinically in a few minutes it will be her birthday, but for now she is still 11 months old and I have enjoyed every single moment i've had with her! So I will save tomorrow for her real birthday post.....

Ok so poor Al is sicky :( I was hoping to do her 12 month pics this weekend, but she is still feeling yucky so it doesn't look like that is going to happen. Hopefully next weekend. Soooo lets see what has Al been up to lately? We'll she knows the sign book, milk, up, and dog. If you ask her to go get a book she will go find one and bring it to you so you'll read it with her. She also will bring you a sock, I know an odd thing, but since she is always pulling her own off she is good at finding them. She walks majority of the time now except not when were out and about then of course I'm holding her. It still amazes me how much she has learned and grown in almost a year. A new thing that she has started is her way of telling me she's done is she projectiles her food. Not vomitting more like spitting. Yeah not so fun for me, but she sure finds it hilarious....She love's to play hide and go seek and I love hearing her giggle so its a win win situation. I don't have the pics of her in her haloween costume their on my moms camera so i'll have to bug her about that, but here are some pics from the last couple of weeks. Enjoy......
Baby in a box. Amazing how the simplest things
make her happy.
"Yo Mama I'm take'n this bag and I'm outta
here!"
"Ok baby remember to brush those four
teeth you have"
"Popeye the sailor girl!"
"Arms up!"
Fun times with Uncle James at the trunk and treat

My poor baby destined with a mother
who is known for being horrible
at matching. Sorry baby....
So excited to start the day after a good nights
sleep. She sleeps in this warm suit so
I don't have to worry about her throwing
a blanket over her face.
people and maybe we'll do lunch"
A couple of weeks ago she realized this space
was the perfect size for her. Now she has learned how
to get all the way in and sit. Too cute!
"Haha you think I'm silly for reading a book
inside out, but there is really a secret message
on the outside."
P.S. John Mayer tickets go on Pre sale today!!

So 24 is gone and over with. How can 25 top giving birth and discovering how much I love being a mom? I don't know, I can't think of anything right now that will top that, but maybe it wont top it. Maybe it will just be another great year! So yesterday was my "golden" birthday. 25 on the 25th. A certain individual worried that I didn't do anything "special" and felt bad, but you know what? I did exactly what I wanted and was with exactly who I wanted to be with. Anyone who knows me knows family is my top priority. So yesterday was filled with spending time with Al and the family. Oh well I also bought myself a really nice camera which I can't wait to start testing out all the different settings. This "golden" birthday I will always remember because it was my first birthday as a mom. So thanks to everyone who made it a special day for me. You guys are too good to me. Love you all...
Ok so I can only post this one pic for now, but more to come.....
Ok so I can only post this one pic for now, but more to come.....
Not that she hated it she just had on her serious face the
whole time. Of course as soon as we got back in the
car she was giggling away.
I'll post more from the pumpkin patch later. Oh and pictures of a pirate that visited me
at work last week.... :)

Ok so I guess its been awhile. Everytime I would plan on posting something else came up. The Friday before Lexi turned 10 months she took 3 full steps and just this week she walked across her bedroom. It was funny cuz Julie and I were just talking and then suddenly she starts tottling across the room. Also this week my mom and dad took her to a dr. appointment (they took her otherwise I wouldn't have been able to take her till Friday) for a rash on her skin. It turns out she has eczema. She got some new medicine and benadryl. She also got the flu shot while she was there and being the brave girl that she is didn't even flinch when they gave it to her.....
Let's see we also we went to Fort Bragg and the baby loved putting her feet in water. Although I missed calculated a lot on how high the water was going to come up and I ended up getting a little wet no worries though I saved baby from getting soaked. She was squeliing with glee through the whole thing while I was squealing with fear. Ok so enough blabbing I know what people really come here to see....
Oh yeah I forgot to mention her weight was 17lb 15oz! Crazy!

Some people use these for chips Al uses them for a chew toy
It's a plane it's a bird.....No its the masked superhero!!
"Dig Toots! Dig!" What will she find?
LOL This was hilarious. Piggy back rides on the beach
Pooped from the long walk on ten mile beach
"Wind Storm!!!!!!!!!"
Uh oh what is that little stinker up to?
Into her toy box she goes....
"Oh don't worry mommy I'm not up to anything.
I would never touch something I'm not supposed to."

Well hmmmm lets see what has been going on lately?....Ah yes Lex started standing up in the middle of a room with no help, but her own two legs. She has been standing, walking along furniture and pushing boxes across the floor while standing for quite awhile. With this though she was just standing up in the middle of the room like, "Yeah look at me I'm just chillin" Is it wrong I want her to stay less mobile? Dang time just passes way to quickly. Oh yes she also has recently started to REALLY test out her vocal cords. She will look at me or anyone else who is around and start screaming at the top of her lungs and not just one gust full she will keep going and going kind of like this sentence. I look away in hopes that she will realize she doesn't get any attention from it, but it is just so hard not to laugh. She babble all the time now and sometimes it seriously sounds like she says words. Holly (her aunt) swore last night she said panda and I have to say I heard the playback and it really did sound like it.......Oh I almost forgot she went to her 9 month checkup last week and she is now 17lbs 1oz and 26in. It was crazy to see how different she was at this appointment she made a complete destruction of the tissue stuff on the exam table. It was hilarious. :) Thankfully no shots at this appointment although at her next one 1 year she is gonna have a butt load of them. We'll that's all I can think of for now here are some photos. I finally ordered her 6, 8, and 9 month photos. I should point out that James is soooo nice to take all her month photos and if I do say so myself he catches the true essence (yes I did want to say that word Heather) of Lex.
P.S. In case anyone is interested John Mayer's new album comes out Nov. 17th!!!! Wooo Hooo!! Yes I am still obsessed.
"I swear it wasn't me!"
I pledge allegiance...

Me and my Ali baba....I was in definite need

What do you open your eyes to at 1:30 in the morning?....I bet its something like a dark quiet room right? Me not so much. This morning or last night however you want to say it I opened my eyes up to Lexi’s huge grin and eyes pressed up against my face…..For background she usually sleeps in her bed, but at 12:30 she decided it was time to “WAKE UP” so I tried to nurse her back to sleep but since I could tell that was going no where I brought her in to my room. So for about two hours she crawled around on my bed laughing and talking. I had to stay awake because I didn’t want her to fall off my bed (I recently got a new bed that is super high). So when I opened my eyes I had closed my eyes to tease her. It was so funny cuz I could totally tell she was like “Mommy I know you’re not sleeping” she kept pushing her face against mine until I laughed. It was like I was torn because I knew I had to get up in a couple of hours to go to work, but yet at the same time who could resist that kind of fun right? I just couldn’t be upset. I guess this is my way of writing it down so I will remember it later….I should point out that she did fall asleep around 2:30. I woke her briefly before I left at 6:00 and when I called my mom at 10:00 this morning guess who was still sleeping???? I totally mean it though when I say I wouldn’t change a thing…..I love her to pieces..... :) Sorry no pics only a story.....

Fun times, fun times that is what our (mine & Lex's) life has been filled with. I was just remembering a specific one just now.....A couple of weeks ago I'm heading to the yogurt shop with Lexi and I get a call from Heather asking if I can meet her at EG park before going to yogurt. Sure no problem I say. So I pull up (Lexi is of course fast asleep) & Heather has the hood of her car up. I'm gonna fast forward otherwise I would be here forever typing the details so on to the good part. Heather is on the phone (Bluetooth) having James explain how to put the jumper cables on the cars so we can jump her car. First time sparks fly, I scream jump 3 feet, Heather jumps almost loosing the cables, and Lexi still fast asleep. People at the park I'm sure were thinking "What dorks!" 2nd try same thing. Finally on the 3rd try Heather gets the first set on hers. I tried to do it, but I kept getting scared I would get shocked. Yeah yeah I know illogical since there was no current yet. Anyways....so as soon as Heather puts the second set on mine instead of sparks flames erupt. I literally started screaming and jumping. Heather was yelling and pulling the cable off (LOL I'm cracking up just remembering) Lexi still in dream world. Just to let you know the flames only lasted like 2 seconds so its not like she was in a burning car or anything. Next time (although I hope there isn't a next time) I'll make sure to get her out of the car before we start. Luckily a nice guy took pity on us and asked if we needed help. I was like "Yeah, we have no idea what were doing!" although I think he could see that for himself. So in less than a minute (not kidding) he had the cables on (minus the sparks) & Heather's car running. Gotta love those kind of individuals who take pity on those seriously lacking any mechanical skills (sorry Heather)....Lexi didn't wake up until we got to the yogurt shop. The things you miss out on when you're sleeping.
So the last weekend in July we went camping in Bodega Bay. I think Lexi enjoyed it. She absolutely loved waking up and crawling over to the campers window and seeing who she could find out there. It's amazing how much she likes to be outside. I think she is a natural camper. I got super lucky that she slept the whole way there and back.
Okay so I never got the chance to post her 6 month pictures cuz of my physics class so no time like the present right? Considering she just got her 8 month ones done.....Oh I'm throwing in some camping ones too. As always though I feel the need to warn you that some of the following expressions make cause extreme laughter.....

Someday the hair will come....until then
comb over days are here to stay

"Oh my gosh mom did you just
here the bad news?! No more milk,
oh the horror!!"
"OHHHMMMMMM"
"Alexandra Marie do I have to tell you again
to put your dress down?!"
"Hey come here I want to eat you too!"
"Yo yo mama"
"Mom can we go outside yet?"
"HaHa I sucessfully captured the chair
now it is all mine to eat HaHa!"
Me and my girls. In case your wondering
yes I did dress my daughter in a striped
onesie and farm pants. Im a horrible
mother, already teaching her
bad fashion. :)
Bodega Bay July 2009 minus Thomas who
stayed home to take care of the dogs.
As an after thought I thought maybe I should
post some pictures from my accident two weeks ago. If you didn't know about it
two weeks ago on my way to work a car cut me off hit my front and sent me spinning into the guardrail on the freeway. Of course they didn't stop. No worries though I'm okay, I have insurance, and most important Lex wasn't in the car. Someone must have been looking over me considering I was on the highway 50 in morning traffic going 60 mph and no one else hit me. The body shop said my car wont be totaled cuz its a Toyota and they hold their value well. So in the mean time I have a rental which just as a suggestion I would never buy a suzuki. Yuck!
They had to push down on the hood to get it to stay down

My poor bumper looked so sad laying on the side of the road.
The shop gave me an estimate of over $5000.00 in damages. Thankfully
because I have insurance all I have to pay is the deductible.
